Verteks Consulting Awarded $540,000 3Com Wireless Project

The school Board of Alachua County selects Verteks Consulting to provide 3Com wireless networking equipment to deploy at more than 46 schools throughout the County.

Ocala, FL — 5 November 2007 — Verteks Consulting is pleased to announce it was selected as the wireless networking equipment provider for a major wireless deployment for the School Board of Alachua County. The project will provide wireless network access at 46 schools in the County.

The County’s IT staff will deploy more than 1,000 3Com wireless access points, 50 3Com Wireless Switches, 200 3Com Ethernet Switches, and 100 3Com Fiber-Optic Transceivers as part of the project. The wireless network design is based on 3Com’s Wireless Switch and Managed Access Point technology.

“We’re very excited about winning this bid and glad that the School Board chose 3Com equipment and Verteks Consulting for this important project.” said Don Gulling, president of Verteks Consulting. “I’m sure this is the largest wireless networking project ever awarded to a Marion County IT firm, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

As part of the project, Verteks Consulting’s engineers will pre-configure the 3Com Wireless Switches and other equipment so that the School Board’s IT staff has a “plug-and-play” installation process.

“The School Board has a very tight timetable to begin installation, so we’ll get started right away.” said Don Gulling. “We expect to complete pre-configuration and delivery no later than December 21.”
